Biochemistry conferences
October 2026
Academic and industrial drug-discovery researchers will compare approaches that connect molecular mechanisms with development candidates. The programme examines targeted protein degradation, three-dimensional discovery strategies, oral coronavirus antivirals and fragment-derived IL17A inhibitors. Further talks address screening unpurified reaction mixtures, regulating innate immune cells, optimizing QPCT/L and PolQ inhibitors with computational and experimental expertise, measuring protein-interaction selectivity and designing covalent inhibitors. Programme participants include Angela Russell (University of Oxford); Anna Barnard (Imperial College, London); Mike Waring (University of Newcastle); James Johnson (UCB); Jens Willwacher (Boehringer Ingelheim); Ageo Miccoli (Sygnature). SCI’s Fine Chemicals Group hosts this in-person meeting at SCI, 14/15 Belgrave Square, London SW1X 8PS. On 8 October 2026, registration starts at 09:20, opening remarks at 09:50 and scientific talks at 09:55; closing remarks are at 17:05, followed by a 17:15 reception. Times are Europe/London, BST (UTC+01:00). Registration closes on 5 October. Current fees are £135 for SCI members, £170 for non-members, £70 for student members and £81 for unemployed members; discounted eligibility is checked by SCI.
