Muscle: Excitation-Contraction Coupling
Physiology, Biophysics and conference by Gordon Research Conferences
About
The conference explores how muscle architecture coordinates electrical excitation, calcium dynamics and force production. Structural biology, imaging, genomics and computational methods are brought together to investigate excitation–contraction units, transverse tubules, cytoskeletal organization and mitochondrial signalling.
Discussion connects molecular mechanisms with organ function and examines how their disruption produces skeletal-muscle and cardiac disease. Translational themes include small molecules, gene therapies and RNA approaches to restoring muscle function. Attendance requires a bachelor’s degree in science or engineering, or an accepted equivalent. Applications are subject to selection and available capacity.
