Recognises sustained public engagement with natural sciences, engineering, mathematics and technology outside formal education. One individual and one group may receive CAD 10,000 and CAD 25,000 respectively to support further science promotion in Canada. The nominal 15 November 2026 deadline falls on Sunday; the published next-working-day rule makes the effective deadline 16 November 2026 before 20:00 Eastern Time.

Individual nominees must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents; group nominees must be eligible Canadian non-profits, postsecondary institutions, non-federal museums or science centres. A Canadian citizen or permanent resident nominates; self-nominations and posthumous nominations are excluded. Nominators normally cannot belong to the nominee’s organisation, with an exception for postsecondary senior administrators. Prior winners generally require a ten-year interval.
