Support new collaborative research across Austrian and African member institutions. All disciplines are eligible, with a contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals. Projects last 24 months and begin between July and December 2027. Apply through StipOnline by 30 November 2026, 13:00 CET.

Institution applies
Covers: Up to EUR 40,000 over 24 months. Covers eligible return travel, subsistence and essential consumables, the latter capped at EUR 5,000. Excludes staff, infrastructure, basic equipment, overheads, visas, travel insurance and vaccination costs. Does not cover the full project budget.
Host location: Austria
Research cooperation and mobility between Austria and eligible African member institutions. African institutions participate as partners; only an Austrian member may coordinate.

The coordinator must hold a PhD and work at an Austrian member institution. Include at least one Austrian and one African member, all with 2026 fees paid. Participants must be PhD students or graduates. One proposal per coordinator; institutional endorsements and own funding are required.
