Rolling fellowship supporting researchers from Germany in all disciplines at eligible Humboldt-network hosts abroad. Selection takes place in February, June and October; allow four to seven months for assessment.

Career stage: PhD · Postdoc · Early independent researcher · Mid-career researcher
Apply with a supervisor or host
Covers: Postdocs: 6–24 months; experienced researchers: 6–18 months. Stipend varies by destination and family circumstances, with travel and applicable family support. A host contribution is normally expected, with exceptions.
Host location: Worldwide
Research abroad, outside Germany; Ukraine, Russia and Belarus stays are suspended. No more than six months in the intended host country during the preceding eighteen months. Additional conditions apply after extended residence abroad.
Nationality or residence: German citizens, or non-Germans academically integrated and currently working in Germany who intend to return. A doctorate-only stay in Germany does not establish integration.
