About
Three-year postdoctoral fellowships for early-career researchers to carry out an interdisciplinary project with a research group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for two years, followed by a return phase of up to one year at a Danish university or other Danish public or non-profit research institution that employs the fellow throughout. Projects may range from fundamental studies to innovation in any area of natural and technical sciences, biomedicine or biotechnology, provided they are interdisciplinary and have potential impact on human health or sustainability. The Foundation supports up to about DKK 1.2 million per year, with a maximum of DKK 3.6 million per fellowship. Results are expected in June 2027.
Eligibility
Covers: Up to about DKK 1.2 million per year and at most DKK 3.6 million over three years.
First two years at MIT (United States); final year at the Danish host institution, which employs the fellow for the whole grant period.
PhD in natural and technical sciences, biomedicine or biotechnology obtained within five years of the fellowship start (leave excluded); PhD students may apply if their supervisor confirms graduation before the start. Applicants need a committed host PI at MIT, at most one year already spent as a postdoc at MIT, a confirmed Danish host institution and PI that employ the fellow and administer the grant, and a demonstrated association with the Danish research system (for example a Danish degree, Danish citizenship or several years of research at a Danish institution). One NNF postdoctoral fellowship application at a time.
