About

A postdoctoral scholarship in Vicente Pelechano's group at the Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology, Karolinska Institutet, based at SciLifeLab in Solna. The group combines experimental and computational genome-wide approaches to understand how RNA sequence, structure and regulation shape cellular phenotypes. The project studies how sequence variation in untranslated regions (UTRs) shapes RNA structure and thereby mRNA localisation, stability and translation. The scholar will integrate RNA structure prediction and modelling with genome-wide experimental datasets in human cells and yeast, focusing on alternative 3' UTR isoforms and natural and engineered UTR variation, with the aim of building structure-aware predictive models of RNA regulation. The working language is English (reference STÖD 2-4489/2026).
