About

Support for stand-alone activities that strengthen Australia’s early- and mid-career STEM community across multiple organisations, such as conferences, workshops and collaborative training. Applications need an activity plan, budget, institutional approval and evidence of partner support.

Eligibility

Career stage: Postdoc · Early independent researcher · Mid-career researcher

Apply with a supervisor or host

Covers: Up to AUD 50,000, paid through an organisation, covers approved activity delivery and participation costs. Salaries, unrelated research costs and institutional overheads are excluded.

Host location: Australia

Applicants must reside in Australia and hold an eligible Australian research appointment throughout the activity. Fixed-term employment qualifies; honorary and adjunct appointments do not.

Nationality or residence: Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required; Subclass 444 holders are included.

Project leads must be fewer than 15 years beyond their first PhD, allowing specified formal career interruptions. A committee of at least three must have an EMCR majority. Recent Flagship or Amplify recipients within three years are excluded.
