MRFF 2026 Clinical Trials Activity Grant Opportunity (GO8645)

This round opened on 30 September 2026. Four streams support pilot feasibility studies for rare cancers, rare diseases or unmet need; clinical trials addressing those conditions; trials filling evidence gaps relevant to Australian health technology assessment; and prevention trials reducing disease risk, onset or progression. The aim is to strengthen clinical evidence and access to effective care for Australians. New applicants must submit minimum data by 5:00 pm ACT local time on 2027-03-10; this earlier mandatory milestone is the listing deadline. Complete applications close at 5:00 pm ACT local time on 2027-04-07. Apply through the eligible administering organisation using Sapphire. Full guidelines require GrantConnect login. Clinical trial projects completed within seven years of scheduled commencement; official individual estimated grant value up to AUD 5,000,000, with stream-specific rules in the guidelines. The AUD 136 million call budget is not an individual award.
