VMSG Student Bursaries — September 2026 round
Description
VMSG offers doctoral students up to GBP 750 towards eligible conference or workshop participation, fieldwork, or travel for laboratory visits within volcanic and magmatic studies. The September 2026 round closes on 15 September and supports travel between 1 November 2026 and 31 October 2027. Applicants must be enrolled for a PhD at a UK or Irish university, have previously presented an oral contribution or poster at a VMSG annual meeting, and never previously received this bursary. Awards cannot fund retrospective activity or laboratory bench and instrument costs. The current bursary page supplies the application form and submission instructions; conference applications require an abstract.
Eligibility
Current PhD enrolment at a UK or Irish university; an oral or poster presentation at a VMSG annual meeting before the deadline; no previous VMSG student bursary. Proposed activity must fall within VMSG’s scientific remit and the round’s eligible travel period.
