Residents of Sweden and people who completed any academic education at KI or another Swedish institution are ineligible. A doctorate or equivalent must be completed before the intended start; candidates finishing their doctorate may apply. Scholarships cover at most two years within four years of the doctorate. Extensive circuit/systems neuroscience experience, quantitative methods, statistics, programming and at least one first-author paper are required.
Researchers of any nationality; the reference point for eligibility is the certified date of the successful PhD defence.

Research must be linked to autism. A tenured/tenure-track or equivalent active autism-research mentor is required and may be named on only one SOS application. One recommendation from someone other than the mentor is required.

Master’s and PhD neuroscience students and postdocs within five years of starting their postdoc, currently based in Europe. FENS or eligible Pan-Europe IBRO membership, host acceptance and a home-laboratory recommendation are required. Insurance, equipment, groceries and personal expenses are excluded.
Nominees must demonstrate outstanding research and the potential to lead in mathematics. Nominations require a letter, two further reference contacts, a CV and publication list.

Applicants must show a current need for flexibility, such as primary caring responsibilities or a clinically diagnosed health condition. Tenure-track, permanent and proleptic postholders, and researchers who hold or previously held an equivalent UK independent-group fellowship, are ineligible. The host must be an eligible UK higher-education, research-council, nonprofit research or public-sector research institution.
