Research Assistant in Agriculture

Support CSIRO’s Cotton Breeding Group at Myall Vale, Narrabri, in research developing cotton varieties for Australian growers. The work combines field and greenhouse experiments, cotton fibre testing, seed preparation, sowing and harvesting, with travel to trial sites in New South Wales and Queensland. This entry-level research support role does not require formal qualifications or substantial agricultural experience. The successful applicant completes a Certificate III in Agriculture at Tocal College; CSIRO covers the direct costs of six intensive training blocks.

The appointment is full-time for 14 months, paying AUD 61,079 per year plus 15.4% superannuation. Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents and hold a current Australian driving licence.
