Doctoral Position in Debris Flow Monitoring

Job Description
A four-year funded doctoral project in the Engineering Geology group investigates debris-flow motion and natural-hazard risk. Analyse point clouds and camera measurements to estimate flow velocity and depth, carry out fieldwork at five sites, and develop methods for understanding sediment movement. The position is expected to start in January 2027. Requirements
- Master’s in engineering geology
- Earth sciences
- geological or geotechnical engineering
- or a related field
- interest in debris-flow mechanisms and landslide risk
- excellent English. Point-cloud analysis experience is an advantage.
