About
A doctoral position in the Division of Heat Transfer, Department of Energy Sciences, Faculty of Engineering (LTH), Lund University. Surface roughness strongly affects turbulent flow, wall friction and heat transfer in energy systems, thermal management and transport, yet predicting turbulent heat transfer over realistic rough surfaces remains difficult, especially when fluid properties and the relative thickness of momentum and thermal boundary layers vary.
The project uses high-fidelity numerical simulation on GPU and CPU high-performance computing platforms to build physical understanding and predictive capability, in close collaboration with Siemens Energy, Ericsson, TRATON and RISE (reference PA2026/3050).
Requirements
Admission requirements for third-cycle studies in the subject as stated in the advert; background in fluid mechanics, heat transfer or CFD is relevant.
