About

A three-year PhD project at DTU Food on genomic characterisation of plant-pathogenic and mycotoxin-producing fungi. Fungal infections are increasing in humans, animals and crops, and mycotoxins contaminate food, yet genomic methods for these fungi lag behind. Building on newly funded web services for genomic characterisation of pathogens, the project will link databases of fungal genomes and mycotoxin gene clusters to fungal taxa and develop predictive models, including for fungi that carry mycotoxin gene clusters without expressing them. Expected start: 1 February 2027 or by agreement.

Requirements

A two-year master’s degree (120 ECTS) or equivalent; experience in general microbiology and fungal culturing is a great advantage.
