This EMBO workshop brings experimental and computational researchers together around molecular mechanisms of adaptation, evolutionary dynamics, microbial communities, symbiosis, biodiversity, and cell-environment interactions.

The ASM Bioinformatics, Genomics and Big Data Conference brings the microbiology community together around bioinformatics, genomics, and large-scale data methods, with registration open for the 2026 meeting in Washington, DC.

The sixth H3D symposium brings scientists and pharmaceutical researchers together around chemistry and biology for infectious diseases. The programme covers drug discovery, chemical biology, medicinal and synthetic chemistry, infectious-disease biology and enabling technologies, with scientific talks, posters and networking. It takes place at the Arabella Hotel, Golf and Spa outside Hermanus, South Africa, from 13 to 16 October 2026. Standard delegate registration is open until 10 October 2026. Abstract submission closed on 15 May and early registration closed on 31 July; those actions are no longer open.

This EMBO Workshop brings together researchers studying chemical crosstalk among marine microorganisms, spanning metabolite-mediated ecological interactions, analytical chemistry, microscale fluid dynamics, cell biology and omics-based microbial ecology.

The Institut Pasteur de São Paulo seeks a postdoctoral fellow to establish and apply Cell Painting, a high-dimensional image-based morphological profiling assay, to identify how Brazilian natural compounds act against intracellular bacteria. The researcher will combine high-content fluorescence microscopy with image, data and bioinformatics analysis in a host-directed therapeutics project supported by FAPESP.

FEMS supports scientific conferences, laboratory workshops and training courses in the European Area. Grants can reach EUR 15,000, with at least 60% used to support early-career scientists’ attendance. The current round closes on 1 November 2026 at 23:59 CET and covers meetings held from 21 March to 20 December 2027. Decisions are expected on 21 December 2026. This is a recurring meeting-support programme.

A two-year programme for early-career independent researchers to collaborate within a recruiting CIFAR research programme, develop international networks and receive leadership training. Global Scholars receive CAD100,000 in unrestricted research support and may seek additional collaborative seed funding. Applicants from all countries are welcome. The appointment runs from April 2027 through March 2029. Applications close on 4 November 2026 at noon Eastern Standard Time. Recruiting programmes include Brain, Mind & Consciousness, Fungal Kingdom, and Healthy Microbiomes in a Changing World, alongside the listed social-science programmes.

The FEMS congress brings together the international microbiology community under the theme Growing microbial futures. The meeting runs 5–8 July 2027 in Ljubljana. Abstracts and associated grant applications are open until 15 December 2026 at 23:59 CET; interactive-session proposals close on 30 September 2026. Attendance registration begins on 15 March 2027, so it is not yet open.
