About

The Particle Theory Group of the High Energy Physics Division at Argonne National Laboratory invites applications for one or more postdoctoral positions. The search is broad across theoretical particle physics with an emphasis on phenomenology: physics within and beyond the Standard Model, phenomenology at current and future colliders, perturbative QCD and jet physics, hadron structure, detector correlators and effective field theory. The group also works on artificial intelligence and machine learning, including global analyses, quantum information, and real-time classical and quantum simulation.

Applicants from formal quantum field theory with an interest in phenomenology are also encouraged. The successful candidate pursues an active independent research programme. The anticipated start is fall 2027, possibly as early as spring 2027.

Requirements

Ph.D. in theoretical particle physics or a related area. Application via AcademicJobsOnline: cover letter, CV with publication list, research plan and three letters of reference.
