About
The Multiscale Brain Communication research unit at IIT's Center for Translational Neurophysiology of Speech and Communication (CTNSC) in Ferrara, coordinated by Luciano Fadiga, brings together physicians, psychologists, biomedical engineers, computational scientists, physicists, chemists and biologists. The research studies how non-invasive brain stimulation promotes neuro-behavioural plasticity in healthy individuals, using non-invasive neurophysiological methods, motion capture and electrophysiology to study motor neurophysiology.
The postdoc will design experiments within the Brain and Machine Flagship project, explore new non-invasive protocols that induce neural plasticity in motor circuits responsible for planning, programming and executing goal-directed reaching and grasping, analyse data and write scientific reports. The 12-month position, renewable for another 12 months from 1 January 2027, pays a gross annual salary of 30,000 euros.
Requirements
PhD in neuroscience or a similar discipline; documented experience using non-invasive brain stimulation; strong publication record; ability to report, organize and publish research data; good spoken and written English. Experience with electromyography and online brain stimulation protocols and MATLAB/Python for statistics and signal processing are additional assets. Applications include a detailed CV, cover letter and two reference letters.
