About
The Cognitive Axon Lab in Carnegie Mellon's Department of Psychology and Neuroscience Institute is recruiting a multi-year postdoctoral research associate funded through the Collaborative Research in Computational Neuroscience (CRCNS) programme. The project asks how the dynamics of cortico-basal ganglia-thalamic pathways contribute to naturalistic foraging behaviour. The postdoc links computational models and mathematical analysis of decision making to human and rodent data, manages data analysis and archiving, mentors students, presents at conferences and in journals, and helps prepare future funding applications.
Supervision is joint between Timothy Verstynen (CMU, Psychology) and Jonathan Rubin (University of Pittsburgh, Mathematics). The appointment is renewed annually, with two years of funding secured.
Requirements
PhD in an area covering cognitive computational neuroscience (for example neuroscience, mathematics, cognitive science or computer science) or a related discipline; experience analysing behavioural and imaging data, machine learning and computational neuroscience preferred.
