About

Three-year postdoctoral position in RiverPulse, an ERC Advanced Grant project at UiT on how accelerating climate change transforms Arctic salmon rivers as ecological systems, multispecies environments, lived places and sites of governance, across the Reisa (Norway), Tornio (Finland and Sweden) and Kapisillit (Greenland) river regions. The fellow contributes expertise in Arctic aquatic and salmon ecology and quantitative environmental data, with responsibility for analysing ecological change across the three rivers: what is changing in the river and salmon ecosystems, and how it is linked to a warming Arctic.

Duties include analysing longitudinal datasets on water quality, temperature, flow and salmon populations with statistical and time-series modelling, and examining changes in salmon populations, migration and spawning in relation to climate and river conditions. Salary NOK 620,000-665,100 (code 1352).

Requirements

PhD in freshwater or aquatic ecology, fisheries biology, hydrology, environmental science or a related field; strong statistical modelling and time-series skills; research experience on ecological responses to environmental or climate change.
