Postdoctoral Research Position: immunology, virology and vaccines (Ignaz Semmelweis Institute)

Postdoctoral position at the Inter-university Ignaz Semmelweis Institute, Medical University of Vienna. The postholder independently plans and runs research projects in immunology, virology and infectious disease biology. Work uses advanced molecular and cell biology and preclinical models to study immune responses and vaccine concepts, and includes baculovirus protein expression to generate reagents for the team. The postholder collaborates in interdisciplinary international teams and publishes in peer-reviewed journals.

Full-time, fixed-term for 6 years; minimum gross salary EUR 5,014, 14 times a year.

PhD, MD or DVM; outstanding research record with peer-reviewed publications; background in immunology, infectious disease biology, molecular medicine, cell biology or biotechnology; required knowledge of antibody Fc interactions with complement and Fc receptors; excellent English. Proficiency expected in several of: viral serology, reverse genetics, vaccine and virus work in mice, BSL-2/2+/3 work, recombinant protein expression, hybridoma technology, single-cell antibody cloning, vaccine design.
