About
Postdoctoral position in the Department of Non-coding RNAs at the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Poznań, in the NCN OPUS 28 + LAP project led in Poland by Dr hab. Monika Piwecka with partners at the University of Lausanne and the Berlin Institute of Health at Charité. The project explores regulatory non-coding RNAs that shape gene expression in specialised cell types of the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, including ependymocytes, tanycytes, gonadotropes and thyrotropes.
Using genetic mouse models and primary and immortalised cell cultures, the team generates miRNA, circRNA and mRNA profiles with single-cell and low-input RNA-seq, proteomics and eCLIP under homeostatic, energy-imbalance and stress conditions, and examines the roles of the circular RNA Cdr1as and miRNAs. The initial 6-month contract can be extended to 25 months in total, at an estimated PLN 9,400 gross per month. Applications (cover letter to the Director, motivation letter, two references or referee contacts, doctoral diploma and CV) are submitted through the institute's eRecruiter form linked from the call; the procedure concludes by 22 December 2026.
Requirements
PhD in molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry or a related discipline obtained no earlier than 12 years before the year of employment (NCN career-break rules apply) and meeting NCN mobility conditions; WoS-indexed publications in RNA biology; broad molecular, cell biology or biochemistry laboratory experience and certified experience with mice; molecular or cellular neuroscience and high-throughput data analysis are advantages; very good English.
