About
Develop coupled-cluster electronic-structure methods with periodic boundary conditions in Marco Caricato’s group. Apply the methods to electronic and optical properties of polymers, surfaces, films and crystalline materials, analyse results and prepare publications. The hybrid appointment also includes student mentoring and professional development. Initial employment lasts one year, renewable by agreement and funding; the proposed 1 October 2026 start is negotiable. Review began on 21 September and continues until a qualified applicant pool is identified.
Requirements
PhD in chemistry or a closely related field, obtained before appointment; experience in electronic-structure methods and computer programming. A doctorate completed within three years, post-Hartree–Fock expertise and Python are preferred.
