About

The laboratory of Santhosh Girirajan in Penn State's Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology seeks a postdoctoral scholar to study the genetic and neural mechanisms underlying neurodevelopmental disorders using mouse models. The lab integrates family-based genetic studies with quantitative functional methods to understand how genes and genetic interactions contribute to phenotypes. The postdoc designs and runs behavioural and neurodevelopmental assays that link functional outcomes to genetic perturbations, working at the interface of genetics, mouse behaviour and molecular neuroscience with additional training in genomics and computational approaches, and mentors undergraduate and graduate students.

Requirements

PhD in neuroscience, genetics, psychology, biology or a related field; expertise in functional studies in mouse models and research on neurodevelopmental or neuropsychiatric disorders; strong training in genetics, neuroscience and quantitative analysis; programming in R or Python preferred. Apply with a cover letter, CV and list of referees.
