Scientist I - Neuromodulation Anatomy: Multimodal Data Integration
Seattle, Washington, United States · On-site
Deadline not stated
About
Lead multimodal analysis of mammalian neuromodulatory cell types within the Allen Institute Neural Dynamics accelerator. The project integrates single-cell transcriptomics, reconstructed neuronal morphology, input/output connectivity, and in vitro and in vivo physiology to understand how molecular, structural and functional properties define cell types. The scientist will develop quantitative frameworks, analyze morphology, integrate datasets using statistical and machine-learning methods, and collaborate with experimental and computational teams. Outputs include openly shared datasets, scientific reports and publications.
The primary workplace is Seattle, Washington, with most hours on site. The stated annual salary range is $86,150–$106,650. Relocation assistance is offered and work visa sponsorship may be available. Any permitted remote work must be performed within Washington State.
Requirements
PhD in genomics, neuroscience, applied mathematics, electrical engineering, physics or a related field, or equivalent education and experience. Proficiency in a high-level programming language such as Python or R, strong mathematical and statistical foundations, and familiarity with agentic data-analysis workflows are required. Preferred qualifications include 0–5 years of postdoctoral experience, cellular/systems/computational neuroscience experience, and a publication record appropriate to career stage.
