STEM Pathways Specialist - Indigenous Employment and Capability (Identified Role - Indigenous)

CSIRO is recruiting a specialist to design and strengthen STEM workforce pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, graduates, researchers and emerging science leaders. The role coordinates scholarships and graduate, pre-doctoral, doctoral and postdoctoral pathways; builds partnerships with universities, research organisations and Indigenous communities; supports transitions into employment and further study; and monitors programme performance, risk and sustainability in culturally appropriate ways.

The indefinite role is available in Australian capital cities with hybrid and flexible-work options. Applications close on 11 October 2026 at 11:00pm AEST.

This identified role is open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people with Australian citizenship. Applicants need high cultural capability and community credibility, experience designing Indigenous STEM pathways and coordinating complex capability initiatives, and must provide an Indigenous cultural referee. Appointment also requires relevant background and child-safety checks.
