Job Description

CSIRO is recruiting a specialist to design and strengthen STEM workforce pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, graduates, researchers and emerging science leaders. The role coordinates scholarships and graduate, pre-doctoral, doctoral and postdoctoral pathways; builds partnerships with universities, research organisations and Indigenous communities; supports transitions into employment and further study; and monitors programme performance, risk and sustainability in culturally appropriate ways.

The indefinite role is available in Australian capital cities with hybrid and flexible-work options. Applications close on 11 October 2026 at 11:00pm AEST.

Requirements

  • This identified role is open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people with Australian citizenship. Applicants need high cultural capability and community credibility
  • experience designing Indigenous STEM pathways and coordinating complex capability initiatives
  • and must provide an Indigenous cultural referee. Appointment also requires relevant background and child-safety checks.
