Explore the evidence used to characterize gemstones and establish their origin. Research presentations examine museum collections, geographic attribution, diamond properties and newly documented gem deposits, alongside jewellery history and market developments. Analytical case studies include spectroscopy and chemistry of Ethiopian copper-bearing tourmalines, investigations of Letšeng type IIa diamonds and provenance research on emeralds and gold. 7–8 November, 09:00–17:00, with breakfast and registration from 08:00; Europe/London (GMT, UTC+00:00). Tickets are paid and vary by membership or student category. Separate workshops on adjacent dates require their own bookings.

This meeting connects mineral-deposit researchers with industry and government geoscientists through technical sessions, keynotes, student activities and field-based learning. It focuses on scientific advances in ore deposits and their geological setting, with field trips examining major Australian and regional mineral provinces. The meeting provides opportunities to compare research approaches and build collaborations across fundamental geoscience and mineral exploration. Abstract submissions open on 1 November 2026 and close on 19 February 2027; registration opens on 2 January 2027.

Organized by the M-FED27 Organising Committee, the conference examines microbial deposits from modern environments to the deep geological record. It combines sedimentology, geomicrobiology, geochemistry, mineralogy and petrology across field, laboratory and molecular scales. Contributions address how microbialites form and change, methods for studying them and environmental applications. Talks and posters are supplemented by workshops and optional field excursions; reduced prices support early-career participation.
