33rd SCI Young Chemist in Industry 2026
Hoddesdon, United Kingdom
Early-career industrial chemists present research from pharmaceutical, biotechnology and agrochemical settings, connecting academic chemistry with the practical constraints of industrial discovery and development. The programme examines digital route design for KRAS inhibitors, principal-component analysis of pharmaceutical oils, antibody modification by sulfur(VI)-fluoride exchange, photochemical oligonucleotide synthesis, flow photoredox chemistry, molecular-glue synthesis and ERAP1 inhibitor discovery. A closing keynote considers digital strategy in industrial chemistry. Talks include discussion, with prizes for presentations and opportunities for scientific exchange. Thursday 5 November 2026, Europe/London (GMT): registration at 10:00, scientific talks from 10:35, keynote at 15:25, prize-giving at 16:10 and a networking reception from 16:20. Attendance is free, with advance registration closing on 26 October at 16:00. An SCI account or event-account registration is required. The meeting welcomes industrial and academic chemists, including graduates and postgraduates.

IKCOC-16 brings academic and industrial chemists and engineers together to examine advances in organic chemistry and related disciplines. The scientific programme connects improved efficiency in organic synthesis with the synthesis of materials and applications in the life sciences. Plenary, invited and contributed lectures, poster discussions and the IKCOC Prize lecture provide forums for comparing research approaches and exchanging findings. Confirmed participants include prize recipient Eric N. Jacobsen, Erick M. Carreira and Hiroaki Suga. The conference takes place in person at Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto on 16–19 November 2026. Times are Japan Standard Time (Asia/Tokyo, UTC+9). Registration is 14:00–16:00 on 16 November, followed by the opening ceremony at 16:00 and opening lecture at 16:45. Scientific sessions run 09:00–16:40 on 17 and 18 November, with posters 16:40–18:40. On 19 November, sessions run 09:00–16:00 and closing remarks finish at 16:15. Lectures and formal discussions are in English. Online registration closes at 23:59 JST on 31 October. Standard fees are JPY 60,000 for active participants and JPY 25,000 for students, who must provide valid student identification. The banquet is extra. Registrations are currently non-refundable.

Challenges in Catalysis IX
London, United Kingdom
This biennial symposium examines how homogeneous, heterogeneous and enzymatic catalysis can meet pharmaceutical and fine-chemical manufacturing needs. Academic and industrial talks compare stereoselective bond formation, lowering catalyst costs, data science combined with high-throughput experimentation for scalable reactions, perfumery synthesis, earth-abundant metal catalysis and greener biocatalysis. Discussion connects new catalytic methods with process development, industrial constraints and sustainability. Programme participants include Sarah Lee (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST)); Beatriz Dominguez (Johnson Matthey); Steven Fussell (Asymchem); Lionel Saudan (DSM); Scott Rice (AstraZeneca); Francesca Paradisi (University of Bern). SCI’s Fine Chemicals Group and RSC’s Applied Catalysis Group organize the in-person meeting at Burlington House, Piccadilly, London W1J 0BA. On 17 November 2026, registration begins at 10:00, welcome remarks at 10:30 and talks at 10:35. Closing remarks are at 17:40 and the reception at 17:45. Times are Europe/London, GMT (UTC+00:00). Early registration through 13 October costs £125 for SCI/RSC members, £145 for non-members, £40 for student members and £75 for unemployed SCI members; later rates are £175, £195, £55 and £105 respectively. Member discounts require eligibility verification. Register Now on the official page offers sign-in or general event registration. One speaker presents remotely; attendee access is in person.
