The Southwest Regional Meeting brings researchers to Fort Worth to discuss chemistry across energy, sustainability and biology. The programme spans molecular energy systems, batteries and catalysis, sustainable materials and chemical biology, with general and specialist symposia and a plenary lecture by H. N. Cheng. The meeting takes place at the Hilton Fort Worth from 16 to 19 November 2026. Registration is open, including on-site registration. Abstract submissions closed on 26 August 2026; this listing supports attendance and does not advertise the expired abstract call.

Upcoming events
This biennial symposium examines how homogeneous, heterogeneous and enzymatic catalysis can meet pharmaceutical and fine-chemical manufacturing needs. Academic and industrial talks compare stereoselective bond formation, lowering catalyst costs, data science combined with high-throughput experimentation for scalable reactions, perfumery synthesis, earth-abundant metal catalysis and greener biocatalysis. Discussion connects new catalytic methods with process development, industrial constraints and sustainability. Programme participants include Sarah Lee (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST)); Beatriz Dominguez (Johnson Matthey); Steven Fussell (Asymchem); Lionel Saudan (DSM); Scott Rice (AstraZeneca); Francesca Paradisi (University of Bern). SCI’s Fine Chemicals Group and RSC’s Applied Catalysis Group organize the in-person meeting at Burlington House, Piccadilly, London W1J 0BA. On 17 November 2026, registration begins at 10:00, welcome remarks at 10:30 and talks at 10:35. Closing remarks are at 17:40 and the reception at 17:45. Times are Europe/London, GMT (UTC+00:00). Early registration through 13 October costs £125 for SCI/RSC members, £145 for non-members, £40 for student members and £75 for unemployed SCI members; later rates are £175, £195, £55 and £105 respectively. Member discounts require eligibility verification. Register Now on the official page offers sign-in or general event registration. One speaker presents remotely; attendee access is in person.
