The dawn of a second quantum revolution

Quantum Physics, Atomic Physics, Quantum Technology and seminar by Pascale Senellart, Research Director, CNRS - Centre de nanosciences et de nanotechnologies université - Paris-Saclay, Visiting Professor at the Collège de France

Hosted by Collège de France

Thursday 18:00–19:00 Paris (GMT+1)

Recording available

Amphithéâtre Marguerite-de-Navarre, Site Marcelin-Berthelot · In person

Abstract

Pascale Senellart traces the development of technologies that directly exploit superposition and entanglement. Experimental control of photons, atoms and fabricated quantum systems has enabled new ways to encode and process information. The lecture connects these advances to quantum computation, secure communication and sensitive measurements, while explaining the close relationship between fundamental research and technological development.
