Abstract
Yi-Ting Tu develops a theoretical account of localisation in quasiperiodic potentials. Regularly spaced deep wells separate the timescales for particle transport and information spreading, producing nonergodic extended behaviour. Local mirror symmetries generate hierarchical resonances when interactions are present and support many-body critical states. The talk also examines how these resonances can create rare-region effects despite the absence of the low-disorder regions familiar from random systems.
