Abstract

The dark central region and stable polarized ring in EHT observations of M87* can constrain proposed new physics. This seminar considers how extra emission from dark-matter annihilation would affect the shadow and how polarization stability limits ultralight axion-photon interactions under a superradiant-cloud assumption. It also assesses the observational and accretion uncertainties behind those tests.
