Abstract
Modal quantum theory retains superposition over finite fields while dispensing with ordinary probabilities, unitarity and state normalization. This talk compares its information-theoretic restrictions with those of actual quantum theory, including analogues of no-cloning, no-deleting and no-broadcasting, and the failure of a corresponding no-hiding theorem.
