Abstract

Axions are weakly interacting particle candidates that could account for dark matter and address the strong-CP problem. This seminar reviews why they are theoretically motivated and difficult to detect, then surveys proposed discovery strategies. Examples include simulations of early-universe axion evolution and observational signatures produced in extreme astrophysical environments such as supernovae.
