From UV completeness to black hole physics: lessons from Hořava Gravity and Asymptotic Safety

Abstract
Hořava gravity and asymptotic safety offer different routes to a gravitational field theory that remains meaningful at arbitrarily high energies. The seminar compares their treatment of spacetime symmetries and renormalization, reviews developments in their ultraviolet descriptions, and examines how their distinctive high-energy structure could affect black-hole physics at lower energies.
