The Department of Cognitive and Psychological Sciences (CoPsy) at Brown University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or tenured Associate Professor beginning July 1, 2025. We anticipate hiring up to two candidates with the area open. However, candidates' research must focus on one of the following research themes: (1) the interface between artificial intelligence and cognition, (2) collective cognition and behavior, and/or (3) mechanisms of mental and brain health. In addition to building an externally funded nationally recognized research program, a successful candidate will provide effective instruction and advising to a diverse group of graduate and undergraduate students, and be willing to interact with colleagues from a wide range of disciplines and academic backgrounds. The CoPsy department is committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment that values diversity. The department strongly encourages qualified candidates who can contribute to equity, diversity, and inclusion through their teaching, mentoring, service and research. The Pennsylvania State University is seeking an outstanding postdoctoral researcher to join the Intelligent Information Systems Laboratory at the College of Information Sciences and Technology. The position is available immediately or starting in Spring 2025. The researcher will be mentored for a successful transition to a faculty or scientist position in academia or a leading research laboratory as many of our previous postdoctoral fellows. You will be involved in leading and assisting in proposal preparation, research execution, and mentoring students on a project involving the use of AI in wildlife conservation. In addition to the wildlife conservation project, the postdoctoral fellow and the faculty mentors may identify and scope other areas of research to pursue. The position fully focuses on research with no expectation of teaching. However, should the scholar want to teach, arrangements can be made to build teaching experience. The objective of this position is to enhance the researcher’s skills and record for a placement in a leading university or research laboratory at the end of the post-doctoral position.
ALBA mentoring fireside chats: identifying mentorship needs
This is the first session in a series of three online fireside chats organised by the ALBA Network with the aims of understanding what’s not working in existing mentoring programmes in (neuro)science and identify the challenges and unmet mentorship needs of the next generation of scientists across the globe. The feedback from these sessions will be used to develop a tailored ALBA mentoring programme.
