Dimensionality reduction in Stroke Patients Neuroimaging Data

Sebastian Idesis · Neuromatch 5

Wed, Sep 28, 2022

The understanding of the stroke lesions’ consequences is limited, and it relies mostly on behavioral reports and mere descriptive correlational information from neuroimaging techniques. Using functional magnetic resonance imaging, it has been shown that the functional synchronization between distinct regions of the brain, referred to as functional connectivity, is disrupted by stroke. Nevertheless, this kind of data is usually large and high-dimensional. Extracting useful information from the vast amount of information afforded by brain networks remains a great challenge so, in order to make s

Co-development of accommodation and vergence and quantification of their interaction

Theresa Lundbeck, Francisco López, Bertram Shi, Jochen Triesch · Bernstein Conference 2024

The relationship between vergence and accommodation remains relatively unexplored. The frequent co-occurrence of non-strabismic accommodation and vergence disorders suggests a link between the two processes. Experimental data also reveal that vergence and accommodation have reciprocal effects, where their reflexes influence each other mutually. According to previous findings, chromatic aberration (CA) plays a key role in the learning of accommodation, with the magnitude and direction of defocus being indicated by the relative contrasts detected by the long, medium, and short wavelength cones i
