Topic: Essential Tremor

This two-year scholarship in Helena Grip’s group combines neuroimaging with motion analysis to study treatment outcomes in essential tremor. The project relates deep-brain-stimulation electrode placement and settings, and focused-ultrasound ablation location and extent, to tremor control and adverse effects on balance and gait. Work connects brain imaging with muscle-activity and movement measurements through the Umeå Centre for Functional Brain Imaging and U-Motion Laboratory. The scholarship is funded by the Kempe Foundations, with a start by agreement.
