The 2027 McKnight Neurobiology of Brain Disorders Award supports research connecting fundamental neuroscience to brain injury or disease, including mechanisms relevant to diagnosis, prevention and treatment. Awards provide USD 100,000 annually for three years, beginning July 2027. Indirect costs and PI/co-PI salary each have a separate 10% total-award cap. Applicants must be independent investigators at US nonprofit research institutions with at least three years in tenured or tenure-track faculty roles. All co-PIs must qualify. Applications close on 15 October 2026 at 17:00 US Central time.
