Join Marité Cárdenas’s laboratory on a one-year technical employment contract, potentially extendable during the project. Purify lipoproteins, prepare lipid nanoparticles and characterize them with omics methods and single-particle profiling. Perform cell-based functional assays, including cholesterol efflux and anti-inflammatory measurements, and quantitative data analysis. The role provides advanced microscopy and biochemical training; starting PhD studies is possible if desired. Applications close on 31 October 2026, with rolling review beginning 30 September.

AI-Driven Design of Lipid Nanoparticles for mRNA Delivery
Bowen Li · Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto
Thu, Sep 24, 2026 · 15:00 UTC
Bowen Li explains how ionizable lipids are designed for lipid nanoparticles that deliver messenger RNA. The seminar covers combinatorial and machine-learning-guided design, four-component reactions for rapidly producing lipid libraries, and barcoded screening in living systems to identify formulations targeting organs and cells, including lungs, T cells and tumours. It then examines applications of AI-guided nanoparticle platforms to mRNA therapeutics. Li is an Associate Professor and Canada Research Chair at the University of Toronto's Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy. Online via Zoom. Thursda
