Experimentalists and theorists will examine ferroelectric, ferroelastic and multiferroic systems at the nanoscale. Topics include confinement, low symmetry, nonlinear behavior, topology, new ferroic phases, switching dynamics, interfaces and coupled order parameters. Scanning probe microscopy and in situ electron microscopy are discussed alongside first-principles calculations, molecular dynamics and phase-field modelling. Talks, poster sessions and discussion focus on emerging and unpublished research. Applicants need a science or engineering bachelor’s degree or equivalent; undergraduates ar
