Topological matter

A postdoctoral position in the Quantum Matter Theory research programme of the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Uppsala University, in the group of Annica Black-Schaffer (about 15 PhD students and postdocs). The group studies quantum condensed matter in which quantum effects govern material properties, including unconventional superconductivity, topological matter, non-equilibrium phenomena in nanosystems, strongly correlated systems and quantum information. Conduct theoretical research on topological matter, quantum devices, quantum error correction, fault-tolerant computation, non-equilibrium quantum dynamics and generalized symmetries at the C.N. Yang Institute. The expected start is September 2027. Appointments run for two years and may renew for a third subject to funding. Exceptional candidates may join the Simons Non-Equilibrium Frontier collaboration. Review begins 16 November 2026 and continues until filled.
