About

NIH investigators will examine gaps in human-based models for basic biomedical research, disease mechanisms and translation. The programme covers human development and evolutionary specializations, transformative experimental models, integration of laboratory and computational methods including AI, and disease applications. Talks address stem cells, organoids, tissue architecture, vascularized models, mechanistic digital twins and reproducible disease platforms. Session discussions conclude with research priorities and next steps; medical phantom demonstrations illustrate imaging validation.

In-person attendance: NIH Neuroscience Center Building, 6001 Executive Blvd, Rockville, MD 20852. October 22: 08:30–18:00 EDT; October 23: 08:30–12:30 EDT (America/New_York). The agenda includes a day-two introduction at 08:25 and remains subject to change. Register by October 13 at 17:00 EDT; valid identification is required. Attendees arrange meals at their own cost.
