Mapping and GIS Analysis with R
Geoinformatics and Geography workshop by A. Márcia Barbosa
About
Create reproducible maps and perform GIS operations with R and the terra package. Working with raster and vector data, participants develop static, thematic, animated and interactive maps, then apply projections, clipping, resampling, buffers, intersections, zonal statistics and distance calculations. Environmental, geological and biodiversity examples connect visualization with spatial analysis, and participants may bring their own data.
2027-01-11–2027-01-15, 15:00–18:00 daily, Europe/Berlin (CET, UTC+01:00). Online course; fee €480. User-level R skills are required; prior GIS experience is optional. Annotated self-guided exercises complement live sessions. The full course costs €480; mapping and GIS components can also be booked separately at €270 each.
