Emerging concepts in developmental biology
Developmental Biology, Embryology and conference by EMBL
About
How embryos construct themselves, and whether development can be predicted or engineered, are the central questions of this symposium. Experimental and theoretical approaches connect molecular regulation with pattern formation, self-organisation, tissue mechanics and organismal form.
The programme covers germ cells and fertilisation, differentiation, organ growth, regeneration, robustness and variability, and the evolution of developmental programmes. AI, multimodal imaging, synthetic biology, genome engineering and high-throughput experiments link model and non-model organisms with in vivo and ex vivo systems. Researchers in developmental biology, biophysics, genomics, computational biology and bioengineering are welcome across career stages.
