About
Steward Observatory, University of Arizona convenes this meeting on infrared astronomy and the evolution of active galaxies in recognition of George and Marcia Rieke. The opening sessions examine detector development, major facilities and future missions, connecting instrumentation with Solar System, stellar, galactic and cosmological research.
Later sessions address black-hole growth, obscured activity, star formation, galaxy co-evolution and early galaxies, including findings enabled by Spitzer and JWST. A reception is scheduled for March 15 at 18:00 and the banquet for March 16 at 18:00, local Tucson time.
