ERC Consolidator Grant 2027 supports scientists consolidating an independent research team in any discipline, including neuroscience, physics, chemistry and machine learning. Up to EUR 2 million over five years, with justified additional funding up to EUR 1 million, or EUR 2 million for eligible PIs relocating from non-associated third countries. Eligible direct costs plus 25% indirect costs. The call opened on 24 September 2026 and closes on 12 January 2027.

Eligible EU or Horizon Europe Pillar I associated host required. Pillar II-only association does not qualify. Morocco has conditional transitional arrangements; applicants must check the call terms. Kosovo is also listed in the programme’s eligible associated destinations; it has no assigned ISO country code in these filters.

Researchers of any nationality with 5–15 years since their certified successful PhD defence, subject to the 2027 call reference date and permitted extensions. A committed host in an eligible EU Member State or associated country must support an independent research team.
