Gambling harms research grants
Description
UKRI invites interdisciplinary teams to investigate gambling-related harm and develop evidence for prevention and treatment. The call spans research-council disciplines and expects participation from people with lived or learned experience of gambling harms. Projects may run for up to three years, with full economic costs up to £2 million; UKRI normally covers 80% of those costs. This project-cost ceiling is distinct from the funder contribution. The programme has an £18 million budget. Applications opened on 21 September 2026 and close at 16:00 UK time on 8 December 2026.
Eligibility
The project lead must be at a UKRI-eligible UK research organisation. Team applications are required. Eligible international, business and third-sector organisations may join as co-leads subject to the call rules.
