About
Develop a Centre of Research Excellence addressing a complex, interdisciplinary health challenge. This is the outline application stage for round five, with an initial seven-year award and a possible further seven years after review.
Eligibility
Covers: Up to £21 million MRC contribution for the first seven years, against full economic costs of up to £26.25 million. Normally 80% FEC, with permitted exceptions funded at 100%.
Lead applicant must be at an eligible UK organisation; the named MRC units in The Gambia and Uganda are the only stated overseas lead exceptions.
Proposed leadership-team members at eligible organisations with relevant expertise and experience. Normally one lead outline application per organisation; existing MRC units have a stated exception. The specified MRC units in The Gambia and Uganda may lead.
