About

The Welch Foundation's research grant programme supports fundamental chemical research at educational institutions in Texas. Each grant funds a single principal investigator's chemistry research at $117,000 per year over a three-year grant period (June 1 to May 31 grant years), with funds usable for postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, post-baccalaureate research fellows and undergraduates, permanent scientific equipment, expendable items, services, equipment maintenance, publication and travel under the Foundation's guidelines; the PI may not receive a stipend from the grant. Proposals describe three years of work, must not overlap scientifically with current externally funded projects, and are reviewed by the Foundation's Scientific Advisory Board, with decisions announced in April. Applications are submitted through ProposalCentral between 1 November and 12:00 p.m. Central Time on 31 January.
